Created in 1933 by Jacques Javillier, a former career soldier, he bequeathed the estate to his son Jean who will continue to operate it with his wife Christiane. 1972 was the pivotal year for the conversion of soils to organic farming. Jean Javillier, the forerunner of this method in the Burgundy vineyard, had to deal with a significant drop in yields. With perseverance, the estate was completely converted to organic with the “Nature and Progress” certification until 1976.
In turn, Alain and Thierry Javillier joined the estate in 1980. They continued on the path traced while improving and refining the organic cultivation method of the farm. To date, the estate offers a great diversity of prestigious appellations that will delight connoisseurs as well as those who want to discover organic Burgundy.
